The Borant Corporation
The Borant Corporation is the corporate entity assigned planetary regency over Earth, running the World Dungeon with the rights to broadcast and exploit it.
- Its principal owners are the Kua-Tin, the dominant species of the Borant System.
- Per Mordecai, Borant deals in rare elements and has a huge backlog of worlds to mine. On top of its mining income it earns advertising money, a Syndicate government stipend and a cut of every credit patrons spend.
- Per Lexis, Borant is producing this season's main program, Dungeon Crawler World: Earth, which the Syndicate government owns.
- Per Odette, nobody likes the Kua-Tin system government, but Borant is different: some of its people are okay and just want to put on a good show. With the political situation, many doubt Borant will last until its next sponsored season, at least seven or eight seasons away; indentureship contracts are frozen during a bankruptcy seizure action.
- Per Mordecai, Borant is being forced by its own government to end the game as quickly as possible. It gets no money from advertising, tourism funds or elite monster sponsorship until the season is over, so it needs the season to be entertaining and profitable but also to finish much faster than usual.
- Per Zev, other corporations may use holograms for their training guilds and admins, but Borant prefers to send its people in person.
- Per Zev, certain production companies may take crawlers to their sets between stairwells, but at any other time, such as after a boss battle, the transfer has to be arranged through Borant's office; such requests are usually granted automatically.
- Per Zev, Borant may not discriminate against production companies from Syndicate member systems, especially ones tied to production sponsors, and the AI watches anything involving money closely. Its official stance is that crawlers face no punishment for opinions about other governments as long as they do not disparage the company, the Party or the Syndicate.
- Per Odette, a Valtay Corporation fleet is parked outside the Borant system, ready to collect on the debt; it was hours from a full-scale collection action when the Kua-Tin started this season early.
