Revealed he was once a crawler

Displaced from his own world many solars ago, he crawled a dungeon himself and reached the eleventh floor before deciding to go no further. Born a skyfowl, he became a Changeling on the third floor, and his shape changes each time his guildhall moves.

Current form

His infobox shows him as a Rat Hooligan, the form he currently wears as a Changeling.

Explained his last tour

Guildmasters prepare for years before each new world; his employer's advance team reached Earth in the 1930s. This is his last tour: afterward he becomes a full citizen with a modest stipend, free to travel, though his home world is closed to him.

Became their registered guide

Having trained both of them, he became Carl and Donut's registered guide. They can return to his guild with questions until the fourth floor, and entering any other training guild brings them back to his room.

Indentureship terms revealed

Odette told Carl and Donut that this season counts against his indentureship only if one of his crawlers reaches the fourth floor. Otherwise he stays bound until the next Borant season, at least seven or eight seasons away.

Changeling form changed

With his guildhall on Floor 2, his Changeling form became a Bugaboo: a seven-foot, bear-like creature with no neck, owlish eyes and absurdly thin limbs.

Refused Odette's invitation

Told that Odette wanted him to seek her out, he flatly refused, saying he preferred thousands more years alone in his room to dealing with her again.

Revealed his crawl class

He was a Changeling Fire Mage Arcanist on his crawl. He almost chose the skyfowl Storm Commander class, but Odette talked him out of it; his brother took it instead, on her recommendation.
