OVERVIEW
Place, Floor 1. First seen Book 1, Chapter 2
Tutorial Guild Hall
The Tutorial Guild Hall is the Floor 1 guild room behind a plain door marked 'Tutorial Guild', run by Mordecai. It is one of the tutorial guilds the System's opening announcement urged new crawlers to find before going any further.
- Its door cannot be opened while mobs are directly outside, a rule Mordecai would not bend even with goblins attacking Carl at the door.
- A crawler must complete the tutorial here before getting access to the inventory menu and loot boxes.
- Elsewhere in the main tunnel, a neon 'Da Tutorial Guild' sign is not this guild: its arrow points down a dark alley that is a goblin trap.
- A classroom-sized room. Interior: fireplace, bed, shelves with bird-creature photos, worn carpet. The door is strong enough to withstand a kinetic blast.
- A Safe Zone, but level timers still run inside.
- The room is a recreation of Mordecai's own home, possessions included. Per Mordecai, it serves the early floors, and after the third floor collapses it is moved to a much deeper level.
- Per Mordecai, when Carl and Donut take the stairs to the third floor they will find themselves back in this room, where they will choose a race, then a class, and distribute their stat points.

- Book 1, Chapter 35: On the second floor the guild still led to Mordecai, who now had the form of a seven-foot Bugaboo.
- Book 1, Chapter 36: Zev, Borant's assistant communications representative, met Carl, Donut and Mordecai here in person, wearing a water-filled suit, to take over their interview bookings.
